Bikes For Namibia, Africa
| The Bikes for Africa (Namibia) scheme came about from a suggestion by the head of A&E at Tameside Hospital, Yogdutt Sharma, who said that most people have a bike in their garages that they never use. He thought it would be a good idea to collect them and ship them out to Africa. B&W Rotarian Gordon Jackson took this idea to the club and David Dewhurst took it up, found all the contacts, did all the spadework, went out to see it in action and generally did an unbelievable job of making it work. |
