Hospital Equipment Repair, Tanzania, Africa
Rotarian Gordon Jackson recently went out to Tanzania at the invitation of Dr Larry Fryda of Pennsylvania in order to repair equipment in rural hospitals around Kilimanjaro. The visit was also used as a fact finding tour to assess the possibility of working with local Rotary clubs to set up an educational system to train Tanzanian technicians.

Bikes for Namibia, Africa
The Bikes for Africa (Namibia) scheme came about from a suggestion by the head of A&E at Tameside Hospital, Yogdutt Sharma, who said that most people have a bike in their garages that they never use.
He thought it would be a good idea to collect them and ship them out to Africa. B&W Rotarian Gordon Jackson took this idea to the club and David Dewhurst took it up, found all the contacts, did all the spadework, went out to see it in action and generally did an unbelievable job of making it work.
